Dr Wright joined Ballygomartin Group Practice in 1987 and replaced the outgoing partner Dr Larry Warke .
The practice operated from a house at 17 Ballygomartin Road serving 7000 patients. Dr Wright took keen interest in medical student teaching, GP training and supervised the updating of the records. The practice was reapproved for GP/medical student teaching and he became the first GP trainer. Many of the current partners today were trained by him.
